Vera Larbi attended Nifa Secondary School from 1977 to 1982. She distinguished herself as an all-rounder, featuring prominently in the hockey, track-and-field and drama teams in particular.
After graduation she went on to work for Ghana Commercial Bank in Donkorkrom during 1983-1985 and then the Great African Insurance Company until 2002.
While working, Vera also pursued her passion for drama, joining the Audience Awareness Theatre group. She took part in a wide variety of stage productions in Ghana, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon. She starred in a number of popular movies and television shows, including Thursday Theatre, with her role as the flamboyant Mrs Kotei in the popular Jagger Pee series being one of the highlights. She also starred in some NAFTI productions and won an award for best actress.
Vera now lives in Worcester, Massachusetts, and works as a nurse after migrating to the US in 2002.
