Nicholas Opoku studied at Nifa Secondary School from 1975 to 1980, graduating in the general arts. As Assistant School Prefect during his final year, he played a key role in the student leadership team at a critical time in the history of Nifa.
Nick pursued further education in the arts at Okuapemman Secondary School, paving the way for tertiary education in French, Spanish and Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon, but not before he had gathered a wealth of experience teaching at a high school in the Eastern Region of Ghana for two years.
After successfully completing his Bachelor of Arts Honors degree, which included a one-year qualifying program at the University of Havana, Nick continued to follow his passion for helping Ghana’s education sector, working as a Circuit Officer with the Central Region’s education department.
Two years later, he left for Canada to pursue a Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Manitoba. Nick currently works for the federal government of Canada in law enforcement administration.
