When did you last visit Nifa Senior High ?

A lot is happening recently!

Another awesome contribution by 98 year group who took it upon themselves to refurbish the dining hall at Nifa Senior High. Last year the 83 year group refurbished and commissioned the ultramodern entrance to lift the image of the school. Which year group will be the next?

The head
we can
trust...

Last week I visited Nifa with my family. The visit had nothing to do with NAA – or so I thought. I was on a personal mission: to show my kids the Nisec I had talked about a million times, and to find out if I could get access to some prized photos from the school’s archives.

Somehow a staff member spoke to the headmistress about us and she invited us to her office. It was a privilege I hadn’t expected. Recognizing that I didn’t live in Ghana, the head assumed that I was part of NAA. I said I was. (Dr Kofi Ansah)

She spoke at length about her great appreciation of NAA’s contribution to the school and her commitment to accountability, referring specifically to concerns raised by Kingsley at the last AGM about the lack of a maintenance culture. I came away reassured and convinced we now have a school head who we can count on, is responsive and with whom we can have a productive relationship. She asked one Samuel Gyasi – a staff and NOSA executive member – to take us on a tour of the project NAA is funding.

Our visit coincided with an orientation session for new first year students – numbering over 1000, and still counting. With the school’s infrastructure not keeping pace with the surge in student numbers, the pressure on the school is likely to keep mounting.

Let's give Ms Kpelle, the head of Nifa, the necessary support!
